MINDSET PERFORMANCE

How Connecting Mindset to Fitness & Sports Performance Takes Athletes to the Next Level!

What I Expect From My Athletes… And What Athletes & Parents Can Expect from Me.

I am deeply blessed to work with Athletes that choose to go above and beyond to improve their skills. I take their commitment very seriously and am excited to give my best to my Athletes, as they work hard to give their best to themselves!

It's The Athlete's Decision.
As a parent, myself, I understand the desire to give our children every opportunity to be their best. However, your athlete must be in 100% agreement with the decision to participate in any training/conditioning program that I offer. Fitness is a very personal decision and should never be forced.
An Athlete's Accountability
It is amazing how Middle School & High School aged Youth can take on responsibility of their own matters, when they take ownership of the areas in their life that they are allowed control over. My Athletes are expected to communicate with me directly regarding any schedule changes, issues, questions or concerns they may have. I am always there for them! However, parents are welcome and encouraged to communicate with me as well.
Respect for Themselves and Others
When an Athlete Thinks or Speaks negatively of themselves or others, it can profoundly affect their performance – not only in sports – but in Life. Self-Respect & Honor of oneself, as well as others, are always a part of my training program. Every athlete has their own strengths and challenges. My purpose is to  help with both! I will not tolerate comparisons or gossiping within my groups. We are all in this together to encourage and build each other up!
My Investment in Your Athlete
The relationships that are built between a coach and athlete run deep. I am always in their corner to encourage and challenge my athletes to have the confidence and courage to progress and improve. I urge them to step out of their comfort zone in a safe and positive way, so they learn to trust their decisions and instincts.
My Investment in The Parent
The parent is always the athlete’s first coach! I am always excited to partner with parents to give the best I can for their child! At the end of each training phase (typically four weeks in duration) I give parents of my athletes a comprehensive report of their progress, strengths and areas that may need additional attention. Also, if there are any special concerns or questions I have regarding your athlete – you can expect prompt communication from me to discuss an action plan for the highest good of your athletes’ needs.

About Me

I’m Karah Schwalm. Certified Personal Trainer with The National Acadamy of Sports Medicine, with specializations in Sports Performance Enhancement and Youth Exercise.

I was first introduced to fitness when I was twelve years old.  At that time, I was overweight – and through exercise and eating healthier, I lost twenty-five pounds. I continued to exercise after realizing the health benefits and stress relief that exercise gave me!

Now, at age 45  – I’m still not done yet! After 33+ years of fitness, I still believe physical fitness is the anchor to the mind/body connection of well being. When you feel strong in your body, it helps you to feel strong in your mind. And that absolutely can affect many other areas in your life in a positive way!

For the past five years, I have had the privilege to work with youth athletes  – coaching Volleyball and Track & Field. I understand how properly training the body can help prepare the athlete to achieve their highest performance.

And that goes for us Women as well! Because whether it’s on the field, the court, the track or just life in general – being and feeling strong is a total game changer!
